Based on Acts 1:8, our strategy for going into all the world with the Gospel includes ministry in our equivalent of Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the world. In order to accomplish this at The Gathering, we must develop and maintain a four-part focus. We must balance our mission planning to include work locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. We will continue to take part in our denominations efforts toward global missions through our giving. That must, however, be only a starting point. Active involvement in the mission of Christ is what we are here for and we must, therefore, implement a balanced strategy of fulfilling our commission of taking the Gospel ourselves.

Our strategy for engaging global missions involves developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with groups and individuals currently engaged in Great Commission missions.  Currently, we have partnerships with the following:

HaCoBaCare - The ministry center of the Hamilton County Baptist Association in Chattanooga.  This center ministers to the homeless and poor in Chattanooga.  We help provide resources and volunteers to help meet needs of those who depend on the center for a helping hand up

Compassion International - We are currently sponsoring 19 children in Honduras.  Please join us in our mission to provide much needed aid to these children.  Opportunities to visit sponsored children are also available

ReapSouth - Working with ReapSouth of the SBC International Mission Board and partner churches in our area to plant a healthy reproducing church in the Yauyos region of Peru.  The village of Alis is our primary focus with the ultimate goal of moving into the surrounding villages where the Gospel has yet to take root and in which there are no healthy, New Testament churches.
